STIKINS labels Review

I love to label all sorts of things, but finding a label that STAYS ON clothes is such a hassle. I've used a few different kinds & they either come off too easy or if they do stay on they leave a yucky residue. I was anxious to try out LabelLightHouse.com's Stikins labels.

Here is The LabelLighthouse.com story

When Lena Grierson’s oldest daughter started school, and returned home one time too many without a glove, it was time to start labeling her daughter's things. Mrs Grierson was surprised to find that there was no fast and easy way of doing that.

“Why not a peel-and-stick label?” she thought.  Why not, indeed! Thus LabelLighthouse.com was born. Mrs Grierson and her company are the exclusive distributors of Stikins™ self-sticking name labels in North America. The Stikins™ self-sticking ID label is a very easy to apply clothing, shoe and item label. The label sticks on to the wash care label of the garment and is washer and dryer safe. It couldn’t be any easier. And that of course is the idea.

Eager to try these labels out I put them on whatever I could find: water bottles, lunch sacks, hats, clothes. AND they stuck. They stick fabulously! And they are a perfect size. Not too small & not too big, just the right size to see but not be too annoying.  I like that they have tons of colors & sizes, so the label can be perfect for whatever you need.  I think these labels would be a great gift idea for any MOM, Labels are a Mom's Best Friend!

Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit Review

DID you know: That nearly 60% of U.S. parents of children ages 3-17 admit that their child skips breakfast, with more than half of U.S. moms wishing their child ate a more nutritious breakfast.

*Results of 2011 Children's Nutrition Survey, conducted by Harris Interactive for Seneca Farms

Breakfast, oh how I never prepare for this meal of the day. I mean it should be fairly simple to do...right?! Well I feel like it is often a hectic time of the day. Wake up, get dressed, eat, get ready for school....etc. I personally don't want to be part of that 60%, so we keep breakfast very simple, oatmeal or cereal. Well we eat oatmeal most of week & cereal only so often...if it was the kids way we'd have cereal EVERYDAY...but that would break the bank with 5 kids. So oatmeal it is....that gets pretty boring...plain oatmeal with brown sugar. When given the opportunity try out Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit, I was anxious to have more breakfast options.

Here is some info about Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit Product Details:

• In less time than it takes to make a cup of coffee, heat the six-ounce microwaveable cup – no milk or water necessary – in the microwave for 45 seconds.
• Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit has no trans fats or cholesterol, and is a great source of Vitamin C.
• Two initial flavors are being introduced - Apple Cinnamon and Vanilla Peach. More flavors will be added in the coming months.
• Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit is a quick and healthy breakfast option for the entire family, a satisfying after-school snack for kids and even works as part of a healthy weight loss plan for those looking to lose or maintain weight loss.

OH I cannot tell you how excited we ALL were when we got the samples to try.  My kids quickly got to the table & even sat patiently....that NEVER happens. After heating the oatmeal, my husband snagged a quick bite of each flavors & the kids devoured the cups quickly. I've never seen them eat oatmeal so fast, and beg for more. A few quotes from our gang: "OOOO YUMMY," Shae 4 years old. "I love finding the fruit, its delicious," Klailea 7 years old.

Well the results are DEFINITE...I am going to have to stock up on Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit.

TO BUY: Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit can be found at Walmart and in a wide variety of retail grocery stores. For a detailed store list, visit www.seneca-farms.com.

MOVIE Review: Disney's African Cats

My family loves movies. To encourage good entertainment habits we only watch movies on the weekends. So we are particular about the movies we choose. When we saw a preview for African Cats, we were hooked.

Here's the summary for African Cats on IMDB: A nature documentary centered on two cat families and how they teach their cubs the ways of the wild.  Narrated By Samuel L. Jackson

It was a fun adventure seeing African Cats. Being a mother of 5 I felt a connection with these Mama Cats and their stories of survival and protection. My kids loved it, they talked for days after about the cheetahs and the lions. They continued to tell everyone how the lions fought & how the cheetahs ran.  We will definitely be getting this movie when it comes to DVD, or even better BlueRay. This is a MUST SEE!

African Cats is in Theaters NOW!

Review and Giveaway of Gulliver's Travels

So when this review went up, I JUMPED at the chance. I was sad that I missed this movie in the Theaters. But I am so GLAD I got to see it now. This movie is another great family comedy by FOX starring Jack Black.  The movie is rated PG and is 85 minutes long, starring Black, Emily Blunt and Jason Segal (among others).

Jack Black performs Gulliver's awkwardness & humor perfectly, he is relate-able & so much fun to watch, even for me as a parent. The lovely town of Lilliput with its King & Princess is just perfect for the imagination of these kids. Even though I feel that this movie is definitely a perfect fit for BOYS, having a bit of bathroom humor,  my girls also enjoyed it. What a wonderful adventure of overcoming fears & learning to be honest.

Want to learn more about Gulliver's Travels before its April 19th release on DVD and Blue-Ray?  A fun way to do so is to check out the Frommer's Lilliput Guide HERE.  Or check out the Gulliver's Games site--it contains a host of fun games for kids to play.

Fogless Shower Mirror with Squeegee by ToiletTree Products.

A bit about the company: "ToiletTree Products Inc. is a private corporation based in Upper Nyack, NY, just minutes from New York City. The company began business in 2009 and has focused solely on the manufacturing and marketing of an assortment of bathroom products featuring its signature product, The Foglesss Shower Mirror." Review: Neptune's Ocean from BABY EINSTEIN

Since lovely Baby #5 came along, I begin to wonder if I pay ENOUGH attention to her...like I did with the others. I'm sure I do, since she is always attached to my hip...but I don't do the word flashcards, read her HER books & point to the pictures & all that goes with an almost 1 year old, like I used to.  I have enjoyed Baby Einstein in the past with Baby #1, but after a few moves my collection got lost. SO I WAS SUPER excited to see that they have Discovery Kits, new DVDs and more.

*About The Baby Einstein Company

The Baby Einstein Company, LLC, is the award-winning creator of the infant media category.  The company is known for its best-selling Baby Einstein brand of DVDs, books, music CDs and toys specifically designed for babies and toddlers. Baby Einstein products bring the arts and humanities to parents and babies through real-world images, music re-orchestrated for little ears and delightful puppet shows.  Headquartered in Burbank, CA, The Baby Einstein Company is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company.   For more information about the company and its products, visit the Baby Einstein website.

We were very Lucky to receive "Neptune's Ocean," which is perfect since we live close to the ocean.

*(NEW) Neptune’s Oceans (releasing February 22, 2011) - Dive in with your little explorer for a voyage of undersea discovery! Journey across Neptune’s Oceans to encounter amazing marine life in their natural habitats. Penguins, whales, dolphins, sea lions and crabs come to life in engaging musical portraits. Together, you and your baby will ride a tide of fun as you explore this wondrous new world!

As we put her movie on, ALL the kids came running to see what Little Miss #5's DVD was all about. They stuck around for the full DVD & said all the words that came on & talked about what they saw. Even Munchkin #4 (2 1/2 yrs. old) would YELL out all the fish & sea life he knew words for. A great learning & entertaining tool for all MY kids ages.

She couldn't keep her eyes off of the cool things she saw!

Since I homeschool my older 3, we enjoyed their discovery Kits during school time. Each kit comes with a DVD, a music CD & picture cards or a book.  I was anticipating the music CD for quiet reading time & also using the picture cards to help my baby's vocabulary grow. So she could have her own special LEARNING time. What a great tool!

So Little Miss #5 enjoyed the cards. She would point & try to repeat the words of the pictures as we said them.

OVERALL Thoughts: Me & my clan of 5 kids give it 12 thumbs UP!

TO PURCHASE: Visit AMAZON to get Neptune's Ocean & other great kits.

Review of StoryLand Yoga DVD from Playful Planet

“Kids learn Yoga by imitating animals and going on a fun-filled adventure to help the planet.”

Playful Planet; Creating a Playful Planet by empowering kids and their families to be healthy and live sustainably. Their site has great tips on teaching our children about "Being Green" as well as resources to help them. A big teaching tool for them are their DVDs. Storyland Yoga is a fun interactive DVD that teaches kids & families the basics of yoga while teaching them good earth conscience values. (details found on their SITE)
My kids love to exercise with me & this DVD was just perfect for them. They were stoked that it was specifically for them & it was quite entertaining EVEN for me. The DVD had many features including; explanation of the poses & 2 stories that the kids could do.

The Yoga instructor is very animated & was easy to follow. As the Yoga instructor told his stories the kids did basic yoga poses, I was impressed. I enjoyed the Yoga also & found myself getting a good workout. My kids were excited that there was more than just 1 story, so we enjoyed the yoga the very next day. Even days after doing the Yoga my girls could remember a lot of the poses.
I can see myself using StoryLand Yoga for a fun preschool activity, or having a kids Yoga Party with my 5 year old & her friends. This would also make a great gift for kids ages 3-8.
Definitely a FABULOUS FIND!

Review of Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies

Pedia-Lax® Fiber Gummies — Daily Fiber

Supplement

The first complete line of laxatives made just for kids, made by the No. 1 trusted laxative brand. Great tasting Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies are sugar-free with natural fruit flavors. Finally there's a delicious daily fiber supplement to help kids stay regular.*

One word for this product: FABULOUS

Fabulous Points
*Kids Love to Eat them
*Adds that extra Fiber needed for your day
*Great Fiber tips on Bottle

As a mother of 5, I have tried many vitamins for my children. And many brands come in gummy form, which is a favorite among my children. When I heard about these fiber-gummies I was excited to try them, although I wondered about how they would taste. I personally have tried a few fiber supplements, most of which have that traditional "fiberous" texture. When I received the Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummies and upon seeing the gummy bottle my kids instantly wanted one. They TRIED & they LOVED. I tried also & I enjoy them MUCH more than our other gummy vitamins, and Yes I do eat the kids gummy-vites once in a while.

Now the true test of a fiber product of course comes later in the day or the next day.....YES I'm talking about the bathroom visit. So after a few days of eating the Fiber Gummies I noticed a big difference in my son's bathroom visit. This Fiber Gummy was working & doing its job just RIGHT.

Lastly I personally always forget about how much fiber is needed in my day. Thanks to the Pedia-Lax Fiber Gummy bottle answered all questions about fiber, how many grams needed & what it compares to. That was a great time saver, saved me a research trip to the computer. Thanks Pedia-Lax.

Review and Giveaway: Knock, Knock PlayTime Pads

I am a homeschooler & this is my 2nd year into it, and so I am still working out the kinks. Well I have a 1 daughter who doesn't love to write. She'll write what she HAS to, but she struggles being creative with her writing. When I was introduced to Knock Knock Playtime Pads I hoped these products could help solve my/her creative writing block.

A bit about them: "Knock Knock was founded on January 1, 2002, by Jen Bilik, with the mission of creating interesting, smart, well-designed gift and stationery products, along with anything else that might strike the Knock Knock fancy." They have a whole kids line of fun creative playtime pads, as well as pads for home life & work. It is soo hard to choose JUST ONE.

Immediately after receiving our Knock Knock Playtime Pad: "Let's Pretend" we HAD to try it out. We decided this was going to be our school activity RIGHT THEN & THERE. And what a HIT! "Let's Pretend" is so cute; it has boxes to check for what you are & what you can do & a special place for kids to color what they are.

Both girls loved it! It totally jump-started a creative writing WAVE. After spending time discussing all the many things they could be & do, they HAD to do another one. So we did.

This was definitely JUST what I need for our creative writing. My 2nd grader will even write stories on the back of it. Now we have implemented this FUN ACTIVITY into our daily homeschool routine, the kids REALLY look forward to doing their "creative writing."

Hours of Creative Play & FUN!

Review: Kiddie Catch-All

My 2 year old is notorious for ALWAYS throwing everything he is given to the ground.
