Snorg T-Shirts: A Review and Giveaway

Snorg.  It's a fun word to say.  It's also a fun site to shop!  SnorgTees are all about the fun.  Fun t-shirts for everyone!  Some info about how Snorg was born provides insight into the business and the people who run it: "SnorgTees got its start back in May 2004 when our group of friends decided that we weren't meant for a real job. We got our options narrowed down to international jewel thieves or internet t-shirt tycoons. Since it was the middle of the summer, we weren't able to find enough ski masks, which left t-shirts as our only option. Fast forward a few years and we've grown to the point where people mistake us for an actual business. We've even shipped a shirt to NASA. That means space. So technically we're a universal company. But we are still just a group of friends who run Snorg because we enjoy it."

Me again.  I'm dotting this review with some of my favorite Snorg t-shirt designs because they are uber-snarky and clever.  The design on the left is the one that First Born requested.  It is an American Apparel medium weight shirt which I really like--not too thin and not too heavy.  It is true to size although it shrank a bit (as disclosed on SnorgTees.com) but holds up well after several washings.  I tried to catch First Born actually wearing the shirt but she's a bit of a ninja teenager and this t-shirt is a part of her regular rotation which means that SnorgTees passes the teenage coolness test in my house.  Their t-shirts are categorized topically and Snorg also sells hoodies, kids shirts and hats (have you seen the beardheads yet?).

You can sign up for the SnorgTees newsletter where you can get notified of the latest t-shirts on the site, when they're giving away free t-shirts and special discounts.  Snorg accepts credit cards and Paypal plus they also ship internationally.

Kidorable: A Review and Giveaway

"Kidorable delights both children and the adults who love them by transforming everyday, functional kids accessories into objects that excite their imaginations and enrich their lives at play..."

When you think of rain boots, raincoats, hangers, backpacks, towels and the like, do you get super excited? Me neither. Well, not until I was introduced to Kidorable, where these functional, yet seemingly ordinary items are transformed into an imaginative ensemble of wonderment. Kidorable's product line is one word: TOTALLYAWESOME!
Kidorable has a variety of ridiculously cute styles to choose from, including:
After an intense decision-making process, my 3 year-old opted for the Mermaid rain boots and we could not be happier!!! It's been raining here in Hawaii, so she has been putting them to good use although.  Even if we were in the desert, I'm pretty sure she'd still be sporting them. The only thing she's unhappy about is the fact that we didn't get the
matching raincoat and umbrella! I absolutely love Kidorable's product line. The rain boots (and other products) showcase 3-D features and embellishments, whether it's dinosaur eyes and teeth or fairy wings. My daughter's boots have mermaid tails on the back of each (pictured), which she loves! The umbrellas and raincoats have similar features that make you wish you were a little kid again, splashing in rain puddles! The adorable styles really allow kids to let their imaginations run wild and role-play as the space hero, fairy, fireman, butterfly, that they want to be... I'm loving my little "mermaid" and the Kidorable rain boots she will never tire of. Take a look at all Kidorable's fantastic products here.

SHOP
You can purchase these Mermaid rain boots or lots of other imagination-sparking gear at Kidorable.com. Also, Kidorable is currently sponsoring an art contest!  Is your child ready to share his/her art on a bigger stage than the refrigerator door? Let the world admire your little Picasso with Kidorable’s Facebook Artwork Contest.  The winner will receive a complete Kidorable ensemble of their choice.  Here’s how it works—your child draws, paints, sculpts, or collages his or her favorite Kidorable theme. Send Kidorable your child’s artwork of frogs, ladybugs, pirates, or any other Kidorable style, and you could win the entire collection in his or her favorite style! Have a look here and choose your favorite.  Just email a picture to contest@kidorable.com to enter.

Review of Good Boy Roy T-Shirts

The older I get, the more I want my purchasing power as a consumer to have meaning.  In other words, yes, its great if a product looks good or otherwise has value but what is my purchase doing?  Who does it support and how?  Therefore, I was excited to review the Good Boy Roy brand of t-shirts.  The designs are pretty cool but its the story behind the product that intrigues me.

Zack, the 15 year old who designs the line, is the real Good Boy Roy.  He draws the character Roy as well as the other characters in the line.  Zack has always loved to draw and his work has comforted him through some health challenges.  His mom saw potential in his cartoon creations and had them put on a t-shirt. Thus, Good Boy Roy Fun Shirts for Kids was born and Zack has added several other characters to the original Roy t-shirt.  I love that Zack and his mom work together to share his drawings with the rest of the world.  I love that a 15 year old kid has created Good Boy Roy and his idea sparked a thriving business.  Most of all, I love that a mom found a way to build not only a business but, more importantly, her son's confidence in his talent.

We were lucky to receive a youth sized shirt for Second Born.  Here she is wearing the I Love Ice Cream shirt.  The yellow on the website looks more canary than the shirt we have.  I actually like the paler lemon color pictured here.  The weight of the shirt is medium and Second Born says its really, really soft.  I'm a big fan of the Good Boy Roy logo on the back--what a nice touch! She's worn it to school and told me one of her friends asked her where she got it.  I told her the Good Boy Roy story so she could pass it on.  A great T-shirt with a great back story.

You can purchase Good Boy Roy T-shirts here.  If you're interested in finding out more about Zack and his cast of T-shirt characters, click here.  And don't forget to follow Good Boy Roy on Twitter and like him on Facebook.
