Milkmakers, A Review! and Giveaway

Another breast milk supplement...
Except this one is way more fun than most!
It's a cookie.
When I was asked if I wanted to review Milkmakers,
I believe my exact words were
"Shoot! I'll eat me a cookie!"
A lot more fun than taking a supplement,
or drinking tea,
or doing a milk-making mantra...
It's a cookie.
A good cookie.
Well, two good cookies.
I recieved the dairy free oatmeal raisin, and the oatmeal chocolate chip. I asked my hubby and kids if they wanted some, and they were a little skeptical looking at the logo. I think they were afraid that it would make them into the first males to be able to nurse a baby. Ha!
Finally I convinced them that it was just a healthy cookie with a few fun ingredients to help me (not neccessarily them) make milk. And Dad and kids like them too! They ate all of my chocolate chip cookies.

And then I regretted trying to get them to eat them.
The cookies did help my supply increase, and the best part was I didn't have to remember to "take" them! They're pretty tempting on their own.

Milkmakers are specially formulated lactation cookies designed to help moms increase their breast milk supply safely, healthily, and most of all, enjoyably.
The cookies are made with all natural ingredients including oatmeal, brewers yeast, and flaxseed, which all are known to help in producing milk. Here are the snippets from their site on each of these ingredients:
"Oats are eaten by nursing moms worldwide to boost breastmilk supply, and are a nutritional powerhouse providing plenty of whole grains, fiber, iron, and an abundance of healthy vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
Brewer's yeast is a traditional herbal remedy used to stimulate and increase the production of breastmilk and is a rich source of the B-vitamins and amino acids essential for nursing moms and their babies.
Flax seed provides an abundance of omega-3 fatty acids, necessary for brain development, which can be passed from mother to baby through breastmilk. These ingredients work together to make milkmakers a wholesome, beneficial treat for breastfeeding moms."

More perks:  They are baked fresh, and sent straight to your door! They come in cute simple packaging, and the bags reseal for you to come back to later.
These are the perfect way to spoil any new mom! Milkmakers have been featured by KUOW NPR, The Doctors, Seattle Magazine, American Baby, Time.com, Glamour and others.

SHOP: To buy Milkmakers go HERE. Also available on the company's website are links to additional resources for breastfeeding moms as well as suggestions for finding a lactation consultant and dietician.

Review: Neptune's Ocean from BABY EINSTEIN

Since lovely Baby #5 came along, I begin to wonder if I pay ENOUGH attention to her...like I did with the others. I'm sure I do, since she is always attached to my hip...but I don't do the word flashcards, read her HER books & point to the pictures & all that goes with an almost 1 year old, like I used to.  I have enjoyed Baby Einstein in the past with Baby #1, but after a few moves my collection got lost. SO I WAS SUPER excited to see that they have Discovery Kits, new DVDs and more.

*About The Baby Einstein Company
The Baby Einstein Company, LLC, is the award-winning creator of the infant media category.  The company is known for its best-selling Baby Einstein brand of DVDs, books, music CDs and toys specifically designed for babies and toddlers. Baby Einstein products bring the arts and humanities to parents and babies through real-world images, music re-orchestrated for little ears and delightful puppet shows.  Headquartered in Burbank, CA, The Baby Einstein Company is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company.   For more information about the company and its products, visit the Baby Einstein website.

We were very Lucky to receive "Neptune's Ocean," which is perfect since we live close to the ocean.

*(NEW) Neptune’s Oceans (releasing February 22, 2011) - Dive in with your little explorer for a voyage of undersea discovery! Journey across Neptune’s Oceans to encounter amazing marine life in their natural habitats. Penguins, whales, dolphins, sea lions and crabs come to life in engaging musical portraits. Together, you and your baby will ride a tide of fun as you explore this wondrous new world!

As we put her movie on, ALL the kids came running to see what Little Miss #5's DVD was all about. They stuck around for the full DVD & said all the words that came on & talked about what they saw. Even Munchkin #4 (2 1/2 yrs. old) would YELL out all the fish & sea life he knew words for. A great learning & entertaining tool for all MY kids ages.

She couldn't keep her eyes off of the cool things she saw!

Since I homeschool my older 3, we enjoyed their discovery Kits during school time. Each kit comes with a DVD, a music CD & picture cards or a book.  I was anticipating the music CD for quiet reading time & also using the picture cards to help my baby's vocabulary grow. So she could have her own special LEARNING time. What a great tool!

So Little Miss #5 enjoyed the cards. She would point & try to repeat the words of the pictures as we said them.

OVERALL Thoughts: Me & my clan of 5 kids give it 12 thumbs UP!

TO PURCHASE: Visit AMAZON to get Neptune's Ocean & other great kits.

Our First Moana Saves Baby!

Ma'uMO Okay, he's not a Moana Saves baby--more like a Kristen and Will baby.  Ma'umo'ale Jeffrey was born on Friday, February 4th.  He was 7.5 lb. and 19.5" long--no doubt he is growing and changing fast.  He was welcomed by his loving parents, two sisters and two brothers, as well as tons and tons of family and friends.  Is he seriously not adorable?  (rhetorical question; you know he is!)
Welcome to the world, Baby Mo!

Don't Tell...(Peter Rabbit Organics, A Review and Giveaway)

But I think I’m in love with Peter Rabbit. Peter Rabbit Organics, really. It was a love at first sight kind of thing. When the box came, I let it sit for a few minutes, and then, I had to open it. Peter Rabbit Organic Fruit Snack purées! *Insert swooning here*
I’m a foodie by nature, and I love fruits and vegetables. (I’m deeply involved in a produce relationship that I just won’t give up.)
I’m gonna roll for you why I’m excited about these:

  • I’m a sucker for cute packaging. It’s darn cute, colorful, and bright.
  • I don’t need to use any utensils to serve it! (No dirty dishes? Thank you.)
  • My kids were excited to eat it, and kept trying to steal it off the counter.
  • It’s 100% pure ORGANIC fruit and nothing else. (Can I get a woot woot?).
  • BPA free packaging, with a no-choke cap.
  • I can grab it and throw it in my purse, no prep involved.
  • It stores on the shelf until you open it, and you can reseal it to finish later.
  • It makes getting my kids to eat their five servings of fruit or veggies, oh, about 100x easier.
  • Did I mention it’s organic?
We received the Apple and Grape, Mango Banana and Orange, and Strawberry Banana to sample. My kids loved them right out of the package! I put it on some oatmeal, and got zero complaints!

Peter Rabbit Organics started as a British company based in London. The squeezable organic fruit snacks started in the U.K. and have gained such popularity they are now made in Oregon and sold across the U.S.!
