Organize It Mom! review and giveaway!

I got to try out the Chore charts from the Organize It Mom!
These charts are handy for keeping track of your daily and weekly chores around the house.  I could even hand the chart to my older kids (who can read) and have them check off what they've done.  Easy for rotating between family members as well.  It comes with a pen to check off what has been done in 8 different areas of the house:
  • Bedrooms
  • Bathroom
  • Kitchen
  • Living Room
  • Laundry
  • Outside
  • Extras (such as windows, walls, microwave)
  • and more Extras- fridge, pantry, outside
Those Extras are good family projects to work on together or divide and conquer the house at once. Cleaning the house can be overwhelming, but this set of charts make it so that I could just take one chart at a time and even see the progress as I worked down the list.  I added some holes and a ring to keep them together so we can just flip to the area I was currently working on or unclip a chart and hand it to whoever was working on a different chart that day.  The bedroom one got handed around the most- when that was done, it moved to the next bedroom.  Another solution to help with card-sharing would be to have different color pens.

BUY: The Chore Chart and other helpful tools- kids job charts and potty training charts are on the website www.organizeitmom.com.

Carolina Pad Organizational Products: A Review and Giveaway

Photobucket

January is my month to clear the piles of papers that litter my home office. I have copies of paid bills that need to be filed, receipts saved for tax filing purposes and so much more.  Carolina Pad recently came to my rescue by sending me a sampling of some of their newest organizational tools. These products are not only cute and eye-catching but they are sturdy and made with quality. You may think file folders like these are handy but you're not the "file my bills away" type of person. Well I have a couple exciting new uses for these handy tools that I want to tell you about.

Photobucket One of my favorite items is the gray spiral bound folder shown in this picture. The paper sticking out of the folder is actually a tax document. An accountant friend of mine once told me to keep a file folder on my desk and any time I had a document pertinent to filing my taxes (i.e. health copay receipts) to stick it directly in a file so that come January I would have everything gathered in one place. I love that this folder has individual pocketed pages so that I can not only keep track of tax documents throughout the year but they are nicely organized and not stuffed randomly into an envelope as they were previously. I also have to draw attention to the green snapped envelope in the photo whose new home is my purse. No longer will my purse be filled with random receipts but instead they will be nicely filed in this lovely little plastic envelope.

My second favorite item Carolina Pad sent me was this large yellow accordion file with tabs and a snap closure. My secret obsession is that I love food magazines. I enjoy these magazines so much that I can't part with one until I've tried all the recipes that look interesting. The problem with this is my husband hates the large pile of magazines that dominate a corner of our bedroom. Lucky for him I have this great new system that will please us both! I labeled the tabs in this filing system with the following: cakes, cookies, salads, soups/chilis, main dish/poultry, main dish/beef, etc. Now when I find a recipe I like in a magazine I can tear the page out and file it in this folder until I get the chance to cook it. Better yet is that this compact and cute folder fits nicely in my kitchen cupboard right next to my cookbooks!

I am loving each and every piece sent to me by Carolina Pad. You too can purchase one or more of these great organizational tools at carolinapadstore.com.

The generous people over at Carolina Pad have also offered to give away a $25 gift certificate (US Residents only) to their store so that you can get organized as well! (Canadian resident winners will receive a prize pack with a retail value of $25.)
