Aerobie Fun in the Sun! (Review and Giveaway)

Spring is here! Or should I say: "Spring is here according to the calendar!" I hope the weather is cooperating in your area of the world. Some of my poor family members woke up to snow this morning.  Hopefully you're experiencing warmer weather and as a result more outdoor play! My family and I have been playing all week with our newest toy, the Aerobie Sprint ring flier. This fun toy is like a frisbee in that it flies. The end. The qualities that make an Aerobie better than a frisbee are:
  • Compact and lightweight
  • Flies twice as far as conventional discs
  • Durable (doesn't crack like a frisbee after sun exposure)
  • Your throw flies much faster
  • Easier to catch than a frisbee
  • Made in the U.S.A. (Actually, I can't say where your little blue frisbee sitting in the garage was made but I always love to support products produced in America.)
While reading about the Aerobie I learned that the Sprint's smaller size is its only distinction from the otherwise identical Aerobie Pro flying ring which holds the Guinness World Record for the longest throw. Wow! As soon as my husband found out I had an Aerobie in the house he was so excited. He has many memories as a child playing with these fun toys. He prefers an Aerobie because of the speed and distance he can get in throwing the disc. What I really like is the minimized pain I had in attempting to catch his throws. With a frisbee I'm always jamming a finger as I try to catch the disc but with the Aerobie's soft rubber edge it's much easier to catch. Plus, I love to shoot my arm up through the center  and catch it like I would a ring toss.

If you want to increase outdoor play for your children this is a great way to exercise and enjoy yourself at the same time. It's fun for throwers of all skill levels and is available in orange, magenta, and yellow.

BUY: Aerobie has a great application on their site where you can look up local retailers that sell the fliers.

Review and Giveaway of WordLock Bike Lock

Where we live in on the North Shore of Oahu, there are tons of bikes because this is a college town and one of the most efficient ways of getting from point A to point B is by bike.  Unfortunately, that makes bikes a hot commodity in terms of theft.

So I was excited to have the chance to review a WordLock bike lock for Second Born who got a brand new bike for her birthday in February.  Let me just point out that she LOVES this bike because she's been able to ride a two-wheeler since she was about four but has never had a new bike--only her sister's leftover bike/bikes.  She loves this bike so much that she doesn't actually ride it a lot because she doesn't want it to get dirty or stolen.  Now that we have a WordLock bike lock, we're halfway there to her actually riding her new bike.  And she is really into her WordLock bike lock.  First of all, it comes in four colors so she got a pink one.  But, she told me, it's a "cool pink" not a "girly pink".  Go, Wordlock!  The word combination was incredibly easy for her to set by herself and she doesn't have any problem with opening the lock either.  We both like the curled, heavy-duty braided steel and the lock holder that installs on the bike to hold the lock when not in use.

What else is there to love about WordLock bike locks?  Definitely all of this:
  • 10,000 possible letter combinations
  • Heavy-duty braided steel cable
  • All weather, color vinyl coating
  • 60 inches long x 0.4 inches thick (1524mm x 10mm)
  • Mounting bracket included
  • Available in four colors: Red, Black, Pink, Blue
This bike lock is the first lock that enables the use of letters and words as combinations that can be set and re-set. WordLock uses patented algorithms that create the best mix of vowels and consonants, maximizing the number of four-letter words that can be created on Wordlock letter dials.

We love Second Born's new WordLock bike lock because it's cute, heavy-duty and easy-to-use.

SHOP: Wordlock locks are available at retailers nationwide including Target, Sears, Kmart, Ace Hardware, True Value stores and also through leading on-line retailers such as Amazon.com.

WIN:The folks at WordLock are giving one lucky Moana Saves reader a bike lock of her very own!  To enter the giveaway, your mandatory first entry is to LIKE the WordLock page on Facebook.
